Lagom Consulting

A story about balance. In Swedish, the word “lagom” represents a way of life. In English, the phrase roughly translates to “not too much, not too little” - in other words, just the right amount. It’s a philosophy of balance.

Story

Picture this: You just entered the third hour of a meeting that could have been an email. You’ve spent all day talking about the work instead of doing the work, you’re somehow waiting for approval from your boss’s boss’s boss, and lunch is still 45 minutes away.

Or, the alternative: You came in over the weekend to get ahead on the big project, only to find that your annoying coworker duplicated your efforts at home, rendering your time meaningless. As your supervisor gives you a stern warning about abusing company time, she also mentions that the project, as a whole, has been shelved.

Our first scenario: over-management to the point of strangulation. We’ve tied ourselves up in so much red tape that we can’t even take the first step. Our second scenario: the Wild West. Want to starve a dog? Ask three people to feed it.

The solution? An agency that knows that project management is people management.
